<image:title>Home - 1:1 Grief Support</image:title>
<image:caption>Are you struggling to find the right kind of support in grief? Living with a deep loss can impact all facets of your life. Long-term support can help you explore & make sense of the complexities of your loss while slowly assist you in re-engaging with life in a meaningful way. In grief, we need to tell our story and we need unconditional support as we attempt to put the pieces of our shattered heart (and life) back together in a new way. We need people and spaces that allow us to come just as we are. We might be shattered one day and plead for our person to come back and hopeful the next day, emboldened to carry our lives forward. The complex nature of grief demands a particular kind of gentle and compassionate support. I specialize in companioning bereaved individuals through all types of death losses. Here, you’ll explore all of the manifestations of your grief and process the emotions and beliefs that come with loss without judgement or unrealistic expectations. I create a compassionate space where you can learn about the grieving process, redefine your sense of self, be with difficult emotions and find meaning in life again while always bringing your person with you.</image:caption>

<image:title>Transform your anxiety in 8 weeks - “The more you work at avoiding your anxiety, the more you fuel and intensify it”</image:title>
<image:caption>Avoidance behaviours can be really simple like calling your loved ones frequently to reassure yourself that nothing bad has happened. Every time you do this, you are signalling to your brain that there is indeed a danger and you are fuelling your anxiety. Over time, your anxiety will keep intensifying and can become debilitating.</image:caption>

<image:title>Transform your anxiety in 8 weeks - I understand that feeling so well because I’ve spent my entire life being anxious.</image:title>
<image:caption>I have spent more than 30 years abandoning myself and being out of touch with my own truth and heart in order to avoid feeling the discomfort of uncertainty. Once I started healing, I realized just how deep my anxiety ran. It manifested in every sphere of my life: I stayed 10+ years in a relationship that was completely wrong for me (and for him) to avoid disappointing others, being too afraid of what would happen if I left I played small in all of my corporate jobs and always thought of myself as someone who wasn't meant to be a "career woman" I abandoned myself and my own truth in order to please others and fit their idea of who they thought I should be I was always the "good girl" and someone who "did the right thing" to the point where I lost touch with my own soul and had no idea who I was My adrenals were suffering, headaches were a constant part of my life and I had trouble sleeping I woke up one day and looked at my life wondering if it was even my own Eventually, I made some changes, left that bad relationship and started getting in touch with my own heart. I met “A”, the love of my life. When he tragically passed away, my anxiety came back with force. That is when I decided I was going to heal my anxiety for good.</image:caption>

<image:title>Transform your anxiety in 8 weeks - I was able to bring my anxiety from an 8 to a 2 and felt more free than I had ever felt before.</image:title>
<image:caption>I am lucky to have access to health insurance and to be able to spend time and $$$ figuring this out for myself and I realize that this isn’t the case for everyone. That’s why I am so passionate about teaching this here, in this program. My goal is to ensure that these strategies, which have brought me such profound healing, can be accessible to everyone who wants to help themselves heal from anxiety.</image:caption>

<image:title>Grief sisterhood - To be able to sit with us inside of our experience of grief, one has to be willing to face their own fears, discomfort, losses and deep pain.</image:title>
<image:caption>Unfortunately, very few humans have the capacity to hold that space for us. Fortunately, that is what I specialize in. Too many grievers feel they must navigate their immense pain alone. We live in a culture where death is denied, avoided or ignored and where grief is constantly minimized. I have yet to sit across a single grieving human who has not felt dismissed, judged or invalidated in some way inside of their experience of loss. If that has led you to feeling unsafe about sharing, making sense of and processing the events and emotions surrounding your loss with friends, family or even with those in the healing profession, you are not alone. How can you feel safe to be with and express the fullness of your grief when no one can hold it with you? That is why I do the work that I do. Because there are too few spaces where grief can be held, witnessed, expressed and processed in a way that honours both YOU and your loved one on the other side. There is so much healing that occurs from having a safe space for truth telling about what it’s really like to live with loss. Being held, witnessed and fully seen by a community that “gets it” is a powerful experience and that’s the intention behind Sisterhood in Grief. This will be the 9th cohort of the Sisterhood. This space has supported 93 women so far and the bonds formed have endured far beyond the 12 weeks of the program & the walls of the zoom room.</image:caption>

In my work, I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of women through 1:1 coaching and group experiences. My work is trauma informed and respectful of your religious & spiritual beliefs.</image:caption>

<image:title>Memories, meaning and legacy - In 2017, my love, best friend and partner died from pancreatic cancer.</image:title>
<image:caption>He and I both loved to write. From the day we met and until his very last days, we wrote letters to one another, outlining the details of our shared life and the depth of our love. In the first year of our relationship, I kept a journal where I wrote about the transformative experience of opening myself to love, the first time we said the words “I love you” and other intimate moments that I didn’t want to forget. I could never have imagined how precious these pieces of writing would become once he was no longer here. In the darkest moments of my grief, being able to go back and read through these memories helps me anchor into the love that we still share and reminds me that that life really did exist. I know firsthand how afraid you might be of forgetting. I was terrified too. Almost four years have passed and I still have moments where I wonder if that life was even real or if I somehow imagined the whole thing. My writing is a tool that helps me remember, record and sometimes share the precious memories of my past with others. And that’s what inspired me to create this offering for you. This is truly an offering created by LOVE, from my grieving heart to yours. I want to help ease whatever fears you might have about forgetting. Let those fears rest and let me guide you as you too remember, record and (perhaps) share your most precious moments. This collection of stories can be for your eyes only or can be shared with your children eventually. It can become a part of your family’s legacy.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cancer widow support - Month 1: reflecting on your whole journey</image:title>
<image:caption>The first month is dedicated to telling our stories of love, illness and loss. We will explore the emotions and events around the time of initial symptoms and diagnosis and you will gather tools to process the fear & shock that may still be present in your experience of grief. We will touch upon the concept of anticipatory grief and explore how that impacts your grief in the here and now.</image:caption>

<image:title>Cancer widow support - Month 2: the many roles of the caregiver and the shifting nature of hope</image:title>
<image:caption>Together, we will reflect on the many roles we have had to take on in the face of our partner’s illness and explore the complexities of the emotions these roles brought up for us. We will discuss what could be felt vs what had to be buried. We will reflect on the shifting nature of the hope we hold in the face of a cancer diagnosis, in the context of the illness and in the face of imminent death. We will draw parallels to the nature of hope in your experience of bereavement.</image:caption>

<image:title>Grief sisterhood all losses - To be able to sit with us inside of our experience of grief, one has to be willing to face their own fears, discomfort, losses and deep pain.</image:title>
This will be the 8th cohort of the Sisterhood. This space has supported 83 women so far and the bonds formed have endured far beyond the 12 weeks of the program & the walls of the zoom room.</image:caption>

<image:title>workshopseries24 - Partner loss reorganizes your entire world. In the context of a loss so vast & profound, what does healing even mean? And if your grief is also traumatic, how do you heal from the things that alter the very fabric of who you are?</image:title>
<image:caption>This is one of the questions that we will explore & grapple with over the next 12 months. Join me & other experts in the field of grief and post-traumatic growth and let’s begin the journey of making sense of this huge loss together. Over the next year, you will be gently guided and supported as you begin to make sense of the far-reaching impacts of grief and trauma on your body and being in the world. You will deepen your relationship to your self and learn to relate to your loss in a new & more empowering way. Together, we will take the steps towards integration. We will explore what it means to create a meaningful life in the “after” where post-traumatic growth and a spiritual bond with your loved one contribute to a greater sense of resilience. And the best part is that you will get to have these profound conversations alongside other widows who deeply understand.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi! I’m Marie, a certified Grief Coach and Death Doula who walks the path of healing with women who have suffered a profound loss. I specialize in creating brave spaces for women to be seen, heard and witnessed in the fullness of their experience of loss. Spaces where women get to deepen their relationship to themselves in a way that promotes deep & lasting healing. My approach is based on the assumption that you are the expert of your own grief and my work focuses on guiding you back home to yourself so that you can find meaning in your life in the “after”. Having lost my partner to cancer, my guidance and coaching comes from both education and personal experience which allows me to deeply relate to my client’s experience of grief and loss. I am the founder of Empowered Through Grief, a coaching practice and community that provides a brave space for healing and post-traumatic growth for women grieving all types of loss. My life’s work is to help normalize grief by engaging in difficult conversations surrounding death and dying. I believe that by getting acquainted with death, we learn so much about life itself. In my work, I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of women through 1:1 coaching and group experiences. My work is trauma informed and respectful of your religious & spiritual beliefs.</image:caption>

Grief is no longer the only thing in the room, but it still shapes the room. You’ve re‑entered life, but you don’t fully recognize yourself in it. Or maybe you feel really different now and you struggle to connect to joy, meaning and fulfilment. You’re aware that more is possible… and very in touch with how short this one precious life truly is. This group is for that moment. For when you’ve said yes to the life that is still available to you while also being unsure of where to go from here. Join a small group of like-hearted widows who are all navigating the tender & complex season of rebuilding.</image:caption>

<image:title>Sanctuary 2026 - Be held, for 12 months, in a space that is specific to partner loss.</image:title>
<image:caption>Losing your partner took your entire life off course, your friends and family just don’t get it (at best) and are losing patience with you (at worst) thinking that you just have to get back to “normal”. This happens to most widows (myself included!) and makes us feel alone, isolated, unseen and so misunderstood. It’s also difficult to find grief support that is specific to widowhood & that acknowledges the complexity of having every corner of your life impacted by this loss. This is why Sanctuary exists. To bridge the gap between the support that is offered to you after loss and the support you actually NEED. Because while it is true that this loss has changed you & perhaps even made your whole life unrecognizable, it is also true that by talking about grief, getting GOOD grief support, being connected to people who get it & cultivating a deep and enduring bond with your person, you CAN not only survive, but create a meaningful and beautiful life. When we allow ourselves to grieve fully, we can then love fully and live fully. This message of hope is what I want you to hear and what will guide our entire year together. I hope that you’ll join me as we weave this feeling of hope throughout our time together over the next 12 months!</image:caption>

<image:title>Sanctuary 2026 - About me.</image:title>
<image:caption>Marie, is certified as a Death Doula who specializes in companioning the bereaved. Her approach is based on the assumption that you are the expert of your own grief and her work involves stepping into the wilderness of your grief with you. Slowly, with patient and compassionate guidance, you get to make sense of your experience, to remember your loved one and to find your path forward. She is the founder of Empowered Through Grief, a coaching practice and community that has been supporting individuals living through all types of life-altering losses since 2020. But more importantly, she is a human who has known deep loss. Having lost her life partner to cancer, she has an intimate understanding of the struggles widows face and she works every day, to build spaces that bring them together. Her life’s work is to provide support and education by engaging in meaningful conversations surrounding death and dying. She deeply believes that by getting acquainted with death, we learn so much about living fully. Over the last 6 years, Marie has supported hundreds of widows through 1:1 coaching and group experiences. Her work is trauma informed and respectful of your religious & spiritual beliefs.</image:caption>
