There are some losses that will rearrange your world.

The loss of a life partner is a transformative experience.

Most likely, this experience has impacted your sense of identity, your perspective on life and the way you navigate the world.

In the space between what was and what will be, Integrative Growth invites you to cultivate a deeper understanding of who you are becoming.

We will help facilitate a rebuilding journey that is intentional and rooted in your integrity.

Let’s move towards what’s next in a way that honours your humanness and feels sustainable.

Integrative Growth Facilitators

Integrative Growth is a collaboration between Amelia Bradaric (Adventuring Loss) and Marie Goudreau (Empowered through Grief).

Integrative Growth is the space that both Amelia and Marie needed but didn’t have when they lost their partners. When they were in that liminal space between longing for what was while attempting to rebuild a new future, there were no grief-specific resources available to walk this complex journey with them.

This is why Integrative Growth was created.

Amelia is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor specializing in complicated grief, trauma and post traumatic growth, and the clinical director of Adventuring Loss (www.adventuringloss.com) – a virtual therapy clinic supporting people navigating the impacts of grief, trauma, life transitions and empowering people to live authentic, meaningful lives.

In 2015, Amelia lost her husband to homicide. She learned over time that when people are in pain, they do not need to be fixed or pushed to get better, faster. They need someone to come up alongside them to provide support as they process their experience and understand its impact(s) while they discover who they’re becoming.

Amelia is trauma trained and uses an integrative approach of DBT, IFS, Somatics, mindfulness techniques, and client-centered education. She guides her clients in slowly developing the foundation needed to face life’s challenges and, eventually, forge a new path.

In honor of her late husband, Amelia founded “The Igor Bradaric Foundation” which annually supports charities across Canada related to grief, victim support and restorative justice initiatives. She is a passionate advocate for victims' rights and works with various Canadian government agencies to create trauma-informed support and policy.

Amelia is a realist who believes in the depth and resiliency of the human spirit.

Marie is a certified death doula & grief coach who offers slow and gentle grief support to those who have suffered a significant loss.

She specializes in creating trauma-informed spaces where people get to make sense of the fullness of their experience of loss.

Her approach is based on the assumption that you are the expert of your own grief and her work focuses on slow integration and unconditional support to help you find meaning in life after deep loss.

She is the founder of Empowered Through Grief, a coaching practice and community that provides individual & group spaces that cultivate hope and post-traumatic growth for people grieving all types of losses.

A few words about our collaboration & personal experiences with loss

Marie and Amelia began collaborating in 2020 when Amelia started offering trauma related workshops within Marie’s group spaces.

Over the past few years, we have discussed (at length) the idea of creating trauma-educated support that’s warm and grounded.

With the intimate understanding that losing a partner impacts every aspect of your life, we wanted to offer a space that supported folks experiencing partner loss during a time when the world expects you to ‘be better’. When grief is no longer considered “early” & the support of family & friends dwindles, this is when a space like this one comes in to bridge the gap.

Welcome to Integrative Growth.

We both often note how similarly we walk through the world after the passing our our partners. We have both found solace in travel, we both value integrity in our work, adventure and connection. Together we have come to understand that grief cannot be rushed and that slow and gentle long term support creates sustainable long-lasting change. Despite all of our similarities, we each bring unique personal and professional experiences to our work together.

Marie walked alongside her partner as his primary caregiver when he faced terminal pancreatic cancer. She can deeply relate to her clients’ lived experiences dealing with caregiver trauma & anticipatory grief. She is a mother and carries the intimate understanding of the complexities of motherhood in the context of a significant loss.

Amelia lost her husband suddenly to homicide and they did not have children. After the years of shock wore off, she was able to reflect on all that had changed and struggled to grapple with this new reality. Slowly, she reoriented her life around the values that held meaning for her now. Amelia carries a profound understanding, both personal and professional, about the impacts of trauma on one’s body & mind & soul.

This is the lens through which Integrative Growth was created. Integrating a loss, trauma recovery and rebuilding are slow processes that must be held gently and thoughtfully.

Integrative Growth is for the widowed person who is ready to cultivate hope & curiosity.

This program has been curated thoughtfully to support you in re-imagining what life could be after partner loss.

The program details:

  • An 4 month program for an intimate group of people (8 to 12 participants) who are rebuilding life after partner loss.

  • Weekly group calls & group chat for connection between calls

  • Sessions are held on Mondays at 12 PST/3 EST from September 23rd to December 30th 2024.

  • The detailed schedule will be shared with you upon enrolment.

DISCLAIMER

This group was created as a way to facilitate connection, education and support.

Everything that is being offered in this space is meant to be a guide and way of adding additional tools to your existing tool-belt, as well as, providing room for curiosity and growth within your own personal experience.

Although we talk about trauma and use trauma informed practices in our facilitation, this is not trauma treatment.

Trauma is individual and nuanced and is often best supported by working with a trauma-informed or trauma educated practitioner one-on-one.
